With my best friend at the time in 1992, it was ugly. There were no winners.

A beautiful girl named Rhonda that lived down the street from me when I was 12. We were playing spin the bottle with the other neighborhood kids. It was great! I’ll never forget it.

What musician did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was 12 to about 14 I wanted to be Peter Criss from Kiss.

Who is your favorite jazz musician of all time?
Well, It depends on what instrument. Standup Bass – Leroy Vinegar, Drums – Max Roach and Art Blakey, Piano – Thelonious Monk, Sax – Charlie Parker, Trumpet – Dizzy Gillespie.

Jano uses a 4 piece “Drum Workshop” black stain birch custom kit consisting of a 18X20 kick drum, 16X16 floor Tom, 10X12 rack tom, and 4 ½ X 14 natural maple snare drum. Jano also uses both “Sabian” and “Zildjian” cymbals.
